I can't help you much because I don't remember how should that be done and can't test that on my Pentium-I 100Mhz (Not joking...)

I also don't know can it be changed or not

But I still can help you a little

So you have to:
1. Download WINMPQ or any other MPQ-archiver
2. Make a map and save it. Select any of campaign loading screens.
3. Open war3.mpq (or war3x.mpq if you selected expansion campaign screen)
4. In winmpq, find a bunch of files for campaigns.
5. Memorize a full name of a file you need (It's probably a jpg). You might want to extract it to see it's properties.
6. Open YOUR MAP in winmpq (as WC?s are really MPQs)
7. Name your jpg as the one you memorized
8. ADD it to your map, entering the path you memorized
9. Check if all's correct
10. Try playing the map NOT with using a 'test map' button of the editor.
11. repeat these steps any time after you save your map
