I got my SCMToolkit and everything, I can load a map, But i can't seem to change anything.. I have 2 questions in particular
what EXACTLY does the units icon do? what should i put into all the 'Player Owning Unit' box? none of these things work, i've read all of the other forum messages, none seem to help me!
Also, changing the player colors doesn't work for me either, it IS a .scx file, but i have that problem of it constantly reverting to the normal color?!
maybe you should write something up a FAQ for the SCM Toolkit on your website, then you wouldn't get so many forum messages about it!

Are you sure you SAVED the map before closing SCM toolkit? That might help!

I have problems aswell, I can't load any maps on, It says "push OK when the MPQ has finished loading..."ect. How do I know when it's done?

First off, opening the map in StarEdit reverts the colors.
The not being able to open map... that probably means you should get the MPQ2K version of SCM Toolkit. Also try downloading the Toolkit again. The MPQ Control is so buggy, don't bother with it.

the thing is, I've tried to download Toolkit again and again, and I have MPQ2K, but it still wont work.

I didn't open it in staredit.. when i try to change more than 1 at a time it forgets the information that i sent it or something and they revert to normal, i don't save, ei.. 1. I change the color of p1 to teal.. 2. I go to p2 and change his color to black/brown.. 3. I go back to p1 and its not teal anymore.. it's red again! 4. I go to p2, It's Blue!! I play it on Bnet vs 7 comps, and see all the normal colors! What am I doing wrong? And I am using the MPQ2K version thats on the site..

Here's your solution:
Don't check to see if it changed. I have found that scm toolkit reverts the colors even if you go back to look at it. My suggestion is to simply trust that you put the right numbers in and then save it.

I've seen people with many problems with the colors in this Tool Kit... You guys should just color hack it with Hex Workshop and use the Tool Kit as a reference chart. Hexing the colors isn't that hard, heck, I've done it for my whole campiagn so if ya want help with it... e-mail me (longer time for wait, I don't check often) or find me on B.net (quicker, just type /where de:cmd_dragon it will find me if I'm on). PS. you need mpq2k, a mpq viewer (i use StarDraft) and Hex Workshop (I don't remember the web address). PS2. If ya want my campaign, let me know.. it's a 1.08 campiagn by the way.
