I downloaded scm toolkit, and all of the supporting files and installed them. My problem is that when I try to open a map, it gives me this error:

The MPQ2K.EXE file is
linked to missing export LMPQAPI.DLL:MpqReadFile

I'm thinking that this is a problem with the lmpqapi_hack file which I downloaded to replace the lmpqapi file that came with MPQ2K, so I'm going to redownload MPQ2K to see if this solves anything. If any of you have experienced this problem and couldn't solve it, please reply!

That file is only for version 2.0 of mpq2k, so make sure you aren't using it if you don't have mpq2k v2.0.

Just redownload the MPQ2K from this site an be sure you have all the .DLLs in place
