I have a cwad with 700 files, when I got to about 650 -60230kb, I just couldn't add more! And I got really mad, cuz I cant open a .mpq with my winmpq, the program just freezes, so I have to rename all the 700 files at once, but there's a limit at 60mb or 650 files !!
WHY !!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOO

When I try to open the .mpq, just this one- I get an error message from Staredit.
I've tried to open it both in winmpq and mpq2k, but it is Staredit that makes problems i believe.. help ?

After I add about 100 files or so, to the mpq, I get an error message from Staredit, and the mpq is useless ... .. .
This happens both in winmpq and mpq2k
I know the programs now, but ... don't you get these staredit errors ??
This happens on both my win2k comp ->winmpq and on my win98 comp ->winmpq/mpq2k
Useless... Why is this happening ??

The 650 files limit might be worked around by making a new MPQ and defining a higher amount of files it can possess (like 4000).
As for the rest, perhaps MPQDraft will soon fix your troubles.

no no no no, I have mpqdraft and it has nothing with adding files to an .mpq to do, it justs make an executablempq of the .mpq, like an executable cwad of an cwad in stardraft. MPQdraft comes after the making of the .mpq You still have to use either winmpq or mpq2k to actually make and fill the mpq
btw- after I add about 100 files in mpq2k, I get an error message from Staredit.. the limit is already set for 1024 files I believe. It does seem to be a limit anyway... but it's always staredit that gives error messages

You have MPQDraft? You're a Betatester? Then I think you should email your questions to Quantam directly, considering he designed both MPQ2K and MPQDraft.
I'm not a Betatester, so I can't help you any further.

I told you, MPQDRAFT has absolutely NOTHING to do with creating a .mpq, mpqdraft just makes it an .exe- and that's not the problem.... phew..I see you can't help me, but thx anyway for being active in this forum.

But as I said, Quantam not only deisgned MPQDraft, but is also the creater of MPQ2K, so he's still the one to ask about the problems. As far as I know WinMPQ is just a GUI around MPQ2K so that's not the problem.
