When ever i try to open a map, i get this error:
Could not find staredit/scenario.chk
or something like that. I have mpq2k and scmtoolki in my starcraft directory.

Are you sure all the required files are with MPQ2K? Also, MPQ2K will not work with storm.dll from SC1.08.
If you want to get it to work with SC 1.08, copy MPQ2K.exe, LMPQApi.dll, Storm.dll from SC1.00-1.07 and StarEdit.exe from SC1.00-1.07 to a directory that is defined in your path in autoexec.bat (IF you don't understand that, then just copy them to C:\Windows\Command)
Then remove MPQ2K.exe and LMPQApi.dll from your SC folder. SCMToolKit does not need to be in your SC folder.

Well, I must admit that I do have the advantage of understanding utilities and such with ease, but mostly it's just that I've been around the blizz editing community a long time. (From way before StarCraft in case you were wondering)
